The new Generative AI imperative is increasing the urgency of action. Did you know that an AI generated image consumes as much energy as charging a smartphone ? With GenAI, cloud datacenters are being filled with GPUs (Graphical Processing Units) at a speed that is far outpacing the cryptocurrency wave. The digital consumption trend is unsustainable. To be viable, we need to learn to do more with less, ie become frugal. The good news is that it also means less cost.
